With the arrival of warmer days, many of our thoughts turn to how to make
the most of the coming months. Whether it means going for regular walks;
enjoying a back yard, patio or park; working in the garden; or returning to
the cottage or camp; this can be a time to take a break from some of life’s
regular routines. Over the past week or so, I’ve spent some pleasant hours
outside planting, pruning and painting, and look forward to more time
outdoors in the days to come.
However, the advent of nice weather does not mean that St. Mark’s is now
devoid of activity. Yes, some of our groups are taking a summer break. But
this past week, the walking club re-convened after its winter’s hiatus, and
will continue to meet Wednesday evenings at 6. The Zoomers exercise
program is continuing throughout the summer – and, of course, weekly
worship services will also be held every Sunday morning at 10:30 am.

-As well, we’re really looking forward to the exciting six-week “Tunes on the Lawn” series that Debbie has organized for July and August. This will be a great opportunity to gather with our neighbours to listen to some great music, enjoy some tasty food, and meet some new friends. It should be fun!
But that’s not all that’s happening. A permanent new outdoor sign will soon be installed to allow us to more effectively advertise our programs and activities – and there are lots of them on tap for the coming months!
These include: a community yard sale in early September, a Wellness Fair in October, a Craft and Arts Bazaar in early November, a monthly series of Sunday afternoon “World Music Cafe” alternative worship services beginning on September 27, and another “Healing Voices Choir” initiative in the new year. So lots of behind-the-scenes work is being done – more activities are also being planned – and you’ll be hearing a lot more about all of them in the weeks ahead. So please stay tuned!
